**Grateful & Growing: An Update on Best Friend’s Place**

Since starting this GoFundMe, I have been overwhelmed with gratitude for every person who has supported, shared, and believed in this mission. Because of you, we now have a beautiful residence, and the beds are filling up quickly with the women God intended to be here. These women are ready to change their lives, find healing, and support one another in recovery.

But our work is far from over. As a small business deeply committed to making a difference, we still rely on donations to keep moving forward. Our goal is to set ourselves apart from other homes in the area by providing not just a place to stay but a true home. We want to create a warm, supportive, and structured environment where women can rebuild their lives with dignity.

Every donation, big or small, helps us create the best possible atmosphere. Your support ensures comfort, necessities, bus passes, pantry items, and creative, therapeutic daily routines that foster growth and long-term success. Welcome to “My Best Friend’s Place” where we help women struggling with addiction find a safe, sober place to call home in the early stages of their recovery.

My name is Kari, and My Best Friend’s Place is my passion project.

My own journey to sobriety, like many others on the sober-brick-road, has been full of heartbreak. There are those who fight back against the demons, and there are those who lose their life to them.

For recovery and deterioration are both achieved the same way: one day at a time.

My immense respect for the women who walk the path to recovery has lead me to be of service in the greatest way I know how.

For the ones who refuse to lay down, who commit to change. For the women who get back up again, and need a little help along the way: I started My Best Friend's Place.

My Best Friend's Place is a women's sober living home. I aim to provide a safe, friendly, warm environment for women in the 12 step program who are getting back on their feet, working hard to stay sober and have a place to call home while they rebuild their lives.

For all of this, I am asking anyone with a giving heart for a little help.

The home is going to need some extra love before I can provide for my tribe.

It will need to be furnished, I am currently looking to purchase gently used appliances and furniture. Twin beds, mattresses, sheet sets, towels, a stove, a dishwasher, washer and dryer, blinds and curtains for the windows, and the list goes on.

The backyard needs a privacy fence and the inground pool needs a deep clean and servicing. I want to be able to provide yoga mats, and a calming outdoor space.

The home will need a security system, outdoor cameras, digital locks, smoke detectors, and alarm, and video monitoring.

The price tag is high but I know we can all come together to make this a beautiful living space for the women traveling the road to a new life in recovery.
