Hi everyone, my name is Daniela Pereira. I write this with a heavy heart, as my uncle has been a role model and support system for me during some of the most challenging periods of my life. Earlier this year he temporarily moved from Colombia to Spain to build a better life for himself and his family. A few months after he moved, he stopped reaching out to his entire family, which is extremely out of the norm for him.

After distributing missing person fliers, and reaching out to local hospitals, we discovered that he had passed out in the street (someone had stolen his phone and his identification while he was unconscious), and was transported to a hospital nearby where he had been alone and disoriented for several days. Shortly after, the doctors discovered he had a tumor in his brain, and after many tests/biopsies, we have learned that it is malignant and are not sure how much time he has left. They have been unable to provide him with the proper care that he needs because he has no one to care for him there or authorize any procedures.

At the moment it’s not within our financial capacity to send my aunt to Spain so she can care for him or even say goodbye to her partner of 25 years. She is heartbroken, my entire family is heartbroken, and unfortunately, it is extremely expensive to travel to Spain.

I am hoping that by starting a gofundme, we can raise enough money for my aunt to travel to Spain, care for her partner while she can, and say goodbye when the time comes. Any support anyone can provide will go a long way. If you have the means to contribute, that would mean the world to me and my family. The Funds will go towards my aunt's flight (from Colombia --> Spain is about 1.8K roundtrip). She will also need resources for food, board, and transportation while she is there (the euro is quite high) and because we are unsure of how long she will need to remain there, we are trying to assure that all of her costs are covered so that finances are the last thing she needs to worry about.
