Hey everyone, to those that don’t know the story so far…….I’m Laura, and have the pleasure of being Claire’s little sister.
My sissy Claire is battling the an absolute beast of a “Benign” brain tumour. We call him Lee……long story! This BT has caused nothing but endless pain, heartbreak and suffering for Claire.
Claire has lost so much since the diagnosis back in 2020. Her independence, her job, confidence and slowly as a family we can see that spark that she always had dimming away.
The last few weeks have been some of the hardest yet. And I literally don’t know where time has gone. Claire went into a spiral and we as a family were informed to expect the worst and it would potentially be a couple of days and if we are lucky a couple of week.
Claire’ tumour now is filling the majority of her head, smothering her sinuses and even growing into her mouth and cheek. This is causing issues with eating, talking and general day to day.
Claire was given very strong pain relief and medication which knocked her out, made her hallucinate and I didn’t think she really knew who we were. It was heartbreaking.
fast forward a week and Claire has been informed by the NHS there is no more that can be done so it could be weeks and my sissy will no longer be with us.
My cousin Donna has been the light we have needed and has been doing her research looking for alternatives in this country and abroad. It seems our only option is abroad, Germany in fact. This obviously comes at a cost, a cost as a family we are struggling to scrape together at the minute.
For the treatment and travel we are in need of £20,000. The consultants in Germany have said they will help my sister but unfortunately it will never cure her. It will give us more time with Claire by extending her life.
That time with my sister for me and my family is so precious.
We as a family are so grateful of all the donations so far and we can’t thank you enough.
As a family we are in need of your help again, to raise money for this treatment and give my sister the time she deserves with her precious fur babies and family.
We will be planning events starting the end of May with Leila and I running the Manchester Half Marathon.
I will update this page as much as I can and I hope you understand that we don’t take asking for everyone’s hard earned money easy, we are in the stages of desperation now.
on behalf of my sister, my family and I we can’t thank you all enough.
love you all x
