Almost 40 | Disabled | Driven

I turn 40 on 14th August, and instead of a party, I want a challenge.

So… I’m taking on EVERY Concept2 ranked time & distance piece, from 100m all the way to 42,195m (a full marathon). And I’m aiming to complete them all before 14th September.

Ideally, I’d have smashed this in a week or two… But let’s be honest; I have MS and arthritis, I live with fatigue, and I’m not 25 anymore. This volume is risky, but it’s also realistic, and that’s kind of the point.

BUT ... I’m not just completing the pieces, I’m aiming to set or break every PR3 (PD) W40-49 British Record, and maybe even bag a couple of World Records along the way.

In total, I’ll be erging around 108,000m. That’s 108km or about 67 miles!

Mad? Yes.

Moronic? Probably.

Motivated? Absolutely.

It feels like the perfect opportunity to do some fundraising. Narrowing it down was hard. When you work in the third sector and have not only been a beneficiary but worked alongside some absolute legends, you know how many brilliant organisations are out there.

I’m not having a 40th party, so instead of fuel to come see me, buy me a drink, or give me a present, a few quid towards this would be absolutely epic.
