Class of 2018 Service Trip

In May, the Monadnock Waldorf School Class of 2018 will be traveling to Guatemala for our senior service trip. There we will partner with From Houses To Homes, a non-profit organization that builds houses for underprivileged indigenous families in the highlands of Guatemala. Many of these people live in makeshift houses constructed of little more than cardboard and cornstalks. These unsafe living conditions result in inadequate protection from the elements and cause chronic health problems. Building alongside the families, with the help of a few paid professionals, our class of twelve will build two homes in one week. We will work incredibly hard--and will be grateful for every minute of it.

We have been working all year to raise money for our trip, and would greatly appreciate any amount you can contribute towards reaching our goal.  All $7000 of our goal goes directly to From Houses To Homes. To date, the group has built 1230 homes, "changing lives one home at a time." Their work also includes a women's and children's medical clinic and a school in central Guatelmala.

We will donate any extra funds to Houses to Homes, in order to help this wonderful organization continue to thrive.

Thank you for helping to provide homes for these families, for giving us the opportunity to do good in the world, and for enabling a cuture so unlike our own to teach us valuable lessons for our own lives.
