Thanks to your support, Don José is safe in a hotel with free breakfast until July 5.

But we’re still waiting for the GoFundMe payout. Our goal is to get him into stable housing — somewhere with a shower, a fridge, and regular meals for the next few months and stay out of ICE Radar

URGENT HELP NEEDED FOR DON JOSÉ

Our goal is to get him into stable, longer-term housing (he lives in a yardita , covered porch)— somewhere with a shower, a fridge, and consistent access to food. A space where he can rest, eat, and feel safe away from ice.

Don José is a beloved elder in our community who survives by selling handmade bracelets and rosaries on the street. He has faced so much already — including over a year and a half of being homeless.

Now, he’s at risk again.

ICE has been seen in the area. The only reason Don José hasn’t been taken is pure luck. He’s terrified, but still shows up every day trying to survive with dignity.

This is a man who’s fought to stay alive, stay safe, and stay kind through it all. Let’s show up

for him now.
