The purpose of this fundraiser is to provide financial support for individuals in Colorado who wish to change their documentation to something that is more in line with their gender identity.
As of December 2018, Colorado residents can represent their gender as either "M" "F" or "X" On state driver's license and identification cards. We are hoping in the near future the same options will be available for Birth Certificates and other documents and to be able to assist individuals in that capacity as well.
WHO WE ARE!
The Shadow Support Network is a new working group in Denver that aims to increase accessibility for individuals who wish to change their gender marker. We believe that it is vital for transgender and non-binary individuals to have access to gender-affirming documents and are thus committed to providing resources to those who otherwise lack such access.
We will offer transportation to the DMV any doctor/mental health appointments, as well as create a network of support and community to help navigate the bureaucratic logistics at play.
All donations raised will go directly to the costs associated with changing your gender marker, including co-pays, appointment costs, DMV costs and a minimal amount (less than 5%) will go to transportation costs.
By interfacing with a wide range of individuals and organizations in the Front Range, Shadow Support Network hopes to reach as many people as possible and provide access to our Trans and Non-Binary neighbors in any way we can.
