We are raising mutual aid funds for a community organizer in Minneapolis, Sam Pree Stinson. To go over everything Sam has done in terms of professional and personal work focused on her community and the betterment of others would take this whole bio but needless to say she has an immense amount of experience with community work and organizing.

This summer, she has taken that experience, knowledge and compassion and given it back to Black, Brown and Indigenous womxn who are currently unsheltered. Sam was one of the original womxn who organized and removed a group of male predators who were originally "running" an encampment. They were actually using the encampment to pray on and exploit vulnerable and unsheltered womxn. After the removal, she has been organizing and volunteering at the Safe Haven Encampment (SHE). While doing that work, she has had a number of personal challenges including losing multiple family members and having to move in the middle of trying to safely and effectively run the encampment. She always gives to those around her even if she is running on empty.  She is a Black woman who has given everything to her community and we as a community need to take care and support her for a change.

She will be using some of these funds to cover back logged moving expenses and recover from personal financial loss she has had because of how much she personally spent getting everyone what they needed at the SHE. She is also going to be using some of this money to support her sister who is currently battling the homelessness crisis because of a domestic violence situation.

I honestly don't have enough words to describe what an amazing person she is. Because of how well SHE has been run, which is in large part because of her knowledge, commitment and connections, we have been able to get over 25 unsheltered womxn into housing and/or treatment. Sam is a Black woman who TRULY takes care of everyone around her and just like all Black women in America, she deserves the same support she gives to everyone else. LETS SHOW HER THE SUPPORT SHE DESERVES.
