Mutual Aid Acupuncture Collective

I'm raising money to assist the work of the Mutual Aid Acupuncture Collective in Portland, Oregon. This is a group made up of Chinese and Naturopathic medicine practitioners. We have been offering free acupuncture treatments monthly since October 2021. We set up our monthly clinic at the Social Justice Action Center in Southeast Portland, where we work with Stop the Sweeps' Hygiene Station in solidarity with houseless neighbors. We have also recently begun offering treatments in conjunction with the People's Clinic at Operation Nightwatch, an excellent project that provides services to those experiencing houselessness on Portland's west side.

This collective was born amidst the uprising for Black lives in 2020 and matured throughout the pandemic. It is an incredible group of people who show up for each other and have sustained their commitment. After doing this for the last couple of years we are further developing outreach materials that need to be printed; we rent space from the Wobblies (IWW) twice a year for all-day retreats, paying skilled comrades to help facilitate the in-depth visioning and planning we do together. We aspire to create a model for this type of mutual aid work that can be replicated elsewhere. We have only just begun and can use your help to continue.
