Mussa's community work in Zanzibar Tanzania needs your help. He runs a popular artist's workshop near Stone Town which supports his local community through education, housing and cultural preservation.
Two community projects need urgent funding, which is beyond the revenue Mussa generates from art sales and batik workshops for tourists who visit Zanzibar.
1. Artists' residence - a place to stay for local and international artists to develop their practice in Batik and screen printing
2. Completion of a house for vulnerable members of the local community and a playground where the local kids can come to hear elders tell traditional stories.
This will cost at least 15 million Tanzanian Shillings or about $10,000AUD.
My name is Lucy Bloom. I've learned Batik from the master himself. I will collect the funds in an Aussie Bank account and then transfer to Mussa when we have reached our goal. He will die from joy. Go on, give generously.
