Muslim Cemetery

A year ago our lives were completely turned upside down when my dad passed away. It has been a long road but the one thing that makes us feel better is going to the cemetery to visit his grave. We were shocked at how neglected the only Muslim cemetery in our area has been and have made it a conscious effort to do what we can to help maintain the area. Having to remind the cemetery consistently that we have paid for endowment care has been exhausting.

The grass doesn’t get cut or watered as written on their schedule and there’s always a plethora of excuses.

There's a lot of other things they've done such as putting headstones on the wrong grave and gaslighting family members, they've moved deceased bodies after burials without family's approval, etc. It’s unethical and gross. We are working closely with an attorney to address these wrongdoings separately.

Meanwhile, we are trying to move forward with approved plans to landscape the area where our pavers and gravel were previously removed. The goal is to try to make sure that the area is more safely accessible. That being said, the approved plans make for a pricey project.

We are doing this not only for our dad and our family to access his grave, but also for anyone that is disabled, elderly, and for children that can't walk through the mud in the winter months and would like to visit their loved ones that have passed. I understand times are tough for everyone right now. Please consider sharing this gofundme with whoever you can if you are unable to donate at this time. Every penny received will be put towards this area of the cemetery. If anything is left over, we will be purchasing graves on behalf of those who may not be able to afford it if they lose a loved one.
