Music therapy at St. Oliver's Special School, Tuam
Donation protected
Hi there! We are Lisa Kelly and Fabian Joyce, the co-founders of Anam Music Therapy. We are a social enterprise based in Galway who provide community based music therapy services in the West of Ireland.
Thanks to funding from Rethink Ireland this year, we were able to provide a funded 10-week music therapy programme to students in St. Oliver's Special School in Tuam. The students greatly benefitted from the music therapy programme. Some of the goals included promoting social interaction, eye contact, turn-taking and developing verbal communication using music-based methods.
In order for this valuable service to continue, Anam Music Therapy and St. Oliver's Special School are looking for your support. All funds raised will go directly to St. Oliver's Special School and be used to fund a 14-week music therapy programme for the school [January - April]. With this funding, approximately 18 students will receive individual/group music therapy sessions on a weekly basis and offer then a way to express themselves creatively.
When you donate, you are not just funding music therapy sessions. You are funding hope and meaningful connection and enabling these children to express themselves through music. Watch the video below to learn more:
