Hi. My name is Musa Hitomi. I'm a musical theater actor from Japan. Just like many fellow actors, I've been running around NYC for 10 years to get into this tough business. I'm very thankful that I could come this far and to be a part of many wonderful productions, as well as stand in line with Broadway actors from my favorite shows.
Last spring, I was diagnosed with spondylolisthesis, and I had to stop dancing for a while for the first time in my life. I’ve had time to think and plan, and realized that I'm on the very edge of having kids with my own eggs.
I turned 38 years old on November 5th, 2023. Even though I may look and feel young, my body is aging. After the age of 35, success rates for pregnancy decrease dramatically. Usually, we can only freeze our eggs until 40. The clock is really ticking.
Becoming a mother is one of my biggest dreams. I always thought I would be able to get married and have kids. Now I'm faced with the reality that I might not have a chance.
I don't want to completely lose my hope yet.
Even if I freeze my eggs, I know that's not guaranteed to become pregnant in the future. We never know what may happen. But I want to save some hope for my future.
The egg freezing procedure costs more than $10,000 for just one cycle. And at my age, it would be better to have another cycle..
It is a huge decision to make with this amount of money and the risk. But I would really like to try it. I hope you could support my decision. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.

【Bio】Musa is an Actor/ Singer/ Dancer/ Coach based in NYC. Originally from Tokyo, Japan. Musa spent 5years as a member of SHIKI Theatre Company. Since moving to New York City, she has performed in numerous productions including, National tour: A Charlie Brown Christmas (Snoopy), Off-Broadway: Women on Fire, Siren's Den, Regional Theatre: A Chorus Line (Connie), West Side Story (Francisca), Avenue Q (Christmas Eve), CATS (Jemima), Spring Awakening (Martha), Mamma Mia, Chicago, Elf, Present Perfect, and Poupelle of ChimneyTown.

こんにちは。ミュージカル俳優のMusa Hitomiです。2013年からニューヨークに拠点を移して10年。必死にマンハッタンの喧騒を駆け回ってきました。この10年で多くの素晴らしい作品に参加できたこと、そして夢であった作品にもブロードウェイ俳優たちと並んで立てたこと、とても感謝しています。
そんな中、今年の春、脊椎すべり症と診断され、今までの人生で初めて、しばらくダンスを休まなければなりませんでした。ふと立ち止まってみると、自分が自分の子供を産むことのできる瀬戸際にいることに気づかされました。
見た目や気持ちは若くても、身体も卵子も歳を重ねています。11月5日で38歳になりました。 35歳を超えると妊娠の成功率は急激に低下し、通常、卵子を凍結できるのは 40 歳まで。またそれに近い年齢の卵子は、妊娠できる可能性も低くなっています。刻一刻と時計の針が刻まれています。
”子供を持つ”、”母親になる”ということは、私にとって大きな夢の一つであり、いつか巡り合わさって叶う現実だと思っていましたが、今、そのチャンスは、もうなくなってしまうのでは無いかという現実に直面しています。
子供は授かりものなので、もちろんできない可能性もあるし、ライフパートナーだって、見つからない可能性もある。
それでもまだ可能性があるならば、その選択肢を失いたくない。自分の将来に希望を持っていたいです。
そこで、この場をお借りして、私ごとで大変恐縮ながら、クラウドファンディングを立ち上げさせていただきました。
卵子凍結手術には、1回のサイクルで1万ドル以上の費用がかかります。そして、私の年齢では、2回目も検討した方がよいとされています。。
そのため、今は日本での採卵も検討しています。
1回にこれだけの費用がかかる上にリスクのある手術は、人生において本当に大きな決断です。不安も募るばかりですが、、ただただ迫り来る現実を諦める前に、選択肢と可能性を自分の人生に残してあげたい。
どのような未来が待っているかわかりませんが、それも含めて、今後も自分の経験を発信していきたいと思っています。

【Bio】NYを拠点に活動しているミュージカル俳優。元劇団四季所属。
日本では、「キャッツ」、「ウェストサイドストーリー」、「春のめざめ」、「マンマミーア」に出演。米国では、「A Chorus Line」,「Avenue Q」,「Miss Saigon」,「Chicago」,「Elf」などの地方公演に出演。
オフブロードウェイの新作ミュージカル含め、数々の舞台に出演し、振付も手がけている。
2019年には、「A Charlie Brown Chrismas」スヌーピー役に大抜擢され、全米を巡演。2022年11月には、NYの有名キャバレー54Belowでの新作ミュージカル"Present Perfect"コンサートに主要キャストとして出演。歌手や司会業など、マルチに活動を続ける他、講師としても活動の幅を広げ、歌、芝居、英語発音、日本語教師として、オンラインで世界中に生徒を持つ。
