Hi everyone,
My name is Hannah Levy and I am a student at Aptos High School. I have been a Girl Scout since the first grade and have had the opportunity to work towards my Gold Award—a Girl Scout community service project of my choice. I am passionate about mental health and supporting those who feel they do not currently have access to the resources they need. For my project, I have decided to incorporate one of my passions (art) with advocating for student mental health. I have been approved by the Aptos High Board and Site Council, as well as the Pajaro Valley Board, to create a mural on the campus with a scannable QR code that will take students to the new and improved wellness page on the school's website. Once there, students can access mental health resources, online therapy and counseling, and hotlines. I also intend to add scannable QR codes to the inside of the bathroom stalls throughout campus to eliminate students feeling uncomfortable when scanning in public. I am in the process of gathering materials such as plywood, base coat, exterior satin or eggshell paints, and anti-graffiti sealer. Any donation helps, and if you have any extra materials you can contact me personally. Thank you for helping me make this dream a reality and allowing students to access mental health resources with no fear or embarrassment.
