This mural, currently in progress on Bloor Street West, is a tribute to the extraordinary women who, after fleeing political unrest in Chile, found a new home in Toronto. It celebrates their courage, resilience, and the profound contributions they have made to our community.
Led by the renowned Nereidas R Women’s Mural Collective from Buenos Aires, Argentina, this vibrant artwork is transforming the facade of the Working Women Community Centre into a living testament to their legacy. The mural not only captures their struggles and triumphs but also serves as a beacon of hope and empowerment for our community.
Despite significant strides and some financial support, the cost of this ambitious project remains substantial. Completing the mural involves extensive community engagement, high-quality materials, permits, and other essential elements.
We are reaching out for additional support to cover the remaining costs. Your contribution will be crucial in bringing this project to fruition and ensuring it meets the highest standards of artistry and craftsmanship. This mural represents more than just a visual celebration; it is a meaningful act of commemoration and community building.
By supporting this ongoing project, you are helping to create a lasting tribute to the incredible women who have made a significant impact on our society. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference and help us complete this important work of public art.
Thank you for your generosity and support. Together, let’s complete this mural and celebrate the enduring legacy of these remarkable women.
