Mural fund for Carytown neighborhood
Hi, my name is Terry. I live in Carytown and with help from neighbors, the merchants associate, and the city counselors office I've been cleaning up graffiti and tags around the neighborhood. We have made an impact but I want to do even more.
Murals are the answer. They beautify the neighborhood, give local artists a chance to have their work seen on a large scale and rarely get tagged or graffitied on. We all benefit by having a more attractive environment, which helps reduce crime, will draw more business, and adds to the quirky flair of Carytown.
My current project is Momotaro Sushi at 2803 W Cary St. The wall pictured is a frequent target of tagging. The owner of Momotaro Sushi has agreed to allow a mural on this wall and I have an artist lined up who is eager to have their work there and is willing to do it at cost.
So now the fund raising begins to pay for the needed supplies. Several neighbors have pledged to contribute, and one has already contacted me privately to donate $300 anonymously. We are off to a great start but I need your help to make this happen. Thank you in advance for anything you can contribute.
