Hello Friends and Loyal Patrons of Munch India! As you know the global COVID-19 pandemic has placed a devastating halt on all our lives. Small businesses, especially restaurants, have faced a significant financial hit as a result. We have a humble new brick and mortar restaurant establishment and a food truck, both of which are completely family-owned and operated. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the government mandated shelter-in-place order, we are afraid that we will not be able to recover from significant financial losses that we have already incurred and will have to incur in  due the current situation that we are all collectively facing.

The COVID-19 pandemic has prompted us to make the very difficult decision to completely shut down our operations (both the restaurant and the food truck) in an effort to protect our family and the public’s health, which has placed a complete halt on any income generation, and we have zero income at this time.  Our chefs and owners have always been extremely passionate about expanding people's perception of Indian cuisine and they have always strived to serve creative renditions of regional Indian dishes while sourcing ingredients of the highest quality. When the government mandated shelter-in-place order has been lifted and we are able to resume normal operations, we hope that we will be able to continue to follow our passion and serve our loyal patrons who have shown us so much love and support ever since we opened our doors. Even in normal times, the restaurant business and industry has very volatile revenue streams, and like many others in the industry, we have also historically operated on very thin margins.

Unfortunately, circumstances like the current pandemic that we are in, only magnifies the negative financial impact that we have had. All donations towards this fund will go towards the basic expenses that are necessary for maintaining our restaurant's fixed costs, i.e. rent, utilities, insurance, etc. These fees that we have already incurred will never go away but will remain as an outstanding balance until paid in full. Therefore since we have no reserve and back-up funds, we will continue to accumulate debt.  Ever since we have opened our brick-and-mortar restaurant just over a year ago, we have incurred a six-figure loan of which the monthly payment is a large lump sum. Since this is a loan from a private lender, there is no such thing as loan forgiveness in our current situation. This is why we need all the help we can get from as many agencies and avenues as possible.

No donation is too small and we appreciate any contribution that you are able to give. Your contribution might make all the difference between being able to keep the business open and restore back into normalcy or shutting down our business completely. We are eager to get back into the Munch India kitchen and we hope you are all able to join us for a delicious meal again very soon!
