I'm raising money to benefit both North Texas Food Bank and Feed Oak Cliff. Any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us and the people who are in need.

I'd like to donate to both of these organizations because they are two sides of the same coin. North Texas Food Bank will provide immediate action and relief to address food insecurity exacerbated by COVID-19 and holiday times. FEED Oak Cliff provides a sustainable, long-term solution to addressing systemic food insecurity by bringing accessible food resources (i.e. grocery stores, nutrition knowledge, etc.) to this area that has been historically underserved.

FEED Oak Cliff: "A non-profit organization committed to bringing healthy food choices and food consumption-based educational opportunities to southern Dallas communities. Our mission is to rectify the injustice that has led to Oak Cliff becoming a food desert. FEED Oak Cliff exists to end the food desert by bringing healthy, high-quality, full-service grocery stores and real restaurants to the residents of the beautiful Oak Cliff area. "

FOOD INSECURITY: An estimated 1 in 9 Americans were food insecure in 2018, meaning they lack financial resources to feed the full household. (Feeding America)

FOOD DESERT:  A "geographic areas where residents’ access to affordable, healthy food options (especially fresh fruits and vegetables) is restricted or nonexistent due to the absence of grocery stores within convenient traveling distance" (Food Empowerment Project)

North Texas Food Bank: "North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) is a nonprofit hunger relief organization that distributes donated and purchased foods through a network of more than 200 Partner Agencies in 13 counties"
