Mullingar Town Band's Trip to the USA

Mullingar Town Band have announced an exciting trip to the United States to celebrate America's 250th anniversary of independence.

The band will jet off to New York in July 2026 and travel to Philadelphia to perform in the Salute to Independence Parade on July 3rd before heading to Washington D.C. to perform in the USA's National Independence Parade before hundreds of thousands of spectators. The band will also perform at the iconic Lincoln Memorial on the National Mall in the heart of the nation's capital. The band will transfer to New York City for the rest of their 7-day trip and perform at iconic venues in New York such as St. Patrick's Cathedral and Central Park.

Mullingar Town Band is a voluntary community organisation comprised of predominantly teenagers. Founded in 1879, the band will represent Ireland on the international stage. The children are taught music and trained to march by volunteers. The youngest travelling to the USA will be 10 years old!

In order to make this dream trip a reality, Mullingar Town Band have undertaken a huge effort of fundraising to get the band to the States and back. The members all pay for their own travels but the costs of transporting uniforms, instruments and equipment is a challenge. Funds raised by this fundraiser will go towards:
