Mueller family adoption

Donation protected
My name is Emily Hilstrom and my husband and I are so thankful to have the Mueller’s as friends.  We are even more thankful that 4 years ago they moved from Colorado back to Minnesota to start a family.  It’s been two years since they adopted their son Brayden Micah and as a family they are ready to adopt again!  Some of you might know the Mueller’s personally, and others may have never met them but I want to share their story with you.  Their story goes deeper than photos and status updates on Facebook and Instagram.  Their story involves patience, faith and love.  I am here to share what brought them to where they are today and where they want to be in the future.
My hope with this page goes beyond lightening the financial burden of adoption.  My hope is that we build a support network for them and pray for them daily.  My hope is that we learn from their journey and that we use the power of social media to make a difference.  So please share their story, reach out to them personally, pray for them during their journey, and if you have the means, please consider donating!

Jasie, Justin and Brayden Mueller are a beautiful family, one that is bound together by God and love, but not by blood.  As soon as this threesome is done with work/church for the day, you will find them spending quality time together in their comfy, casual clothes.  On the weekends, if they aren’t making a road trip home to Park Rapids or Brainerd, they are hosting family that traveled to see them.  The Grandparents tell me all the time that they can’t stand being away from Brayden too long but I know deep down they miss Jasie, Justin and Zoey (their boxer puppy) too.  Spend time with Jasie and you will see that she gives her whole heart to her family, friends and every kid she works with.  She is one of the most caring and gracious people I know.  Justin is hard working but also loves to relax.  He cracks himself up with “knee slapping” jokes and people are easily drawn to him.  From the time they started dating, these two have had a strong faith and foundation in God and they knew early on that it would play a big part when they started a family.   On June 12, 2014, their son, Brayden Micah was born but the days leading up to that were not easy.

Jasie and Justin started the adoption process in October 2013.  In the midst of background checks, blood work, interviews, adoption fees and even lost paper work, they stayed focused by knowing that God had a plan and the child that He had for them was not born yet.  They did their best to prepare for welcoming a baby without getting disappointed when weeks went by without any news.   As a friend, it was hard to know what to do or how to help.  I wanted to make them a promise that everything would work out but I didn’t have the answer.  No one knew how long the wait would be.  For those of you that have gone through a season of waiting, you know that it is emotionally draining on you and your loved ones.  Starting a family, naturally or through adoption, can be one of the most challenging waiting periods.  Some weeks Jasie and Justin were utterly exhausted by the process.  They worried they had turned away too soon from potential children.  They contemplated doing tests, medication or even surgery to have biological children; but throughout the process God always had a strong message to them - Jasie and Justin were meant to adopt.  On June 13, 2014, the Mueller’s received the call they had been waiting for. This was different than any other call or email they received during the process and they knew right away that it was about their son.  (Read more details here:http://walk-by-faith14.blogspot.com/?m=1 ).They didn’t have 9 months to process all of the news.  Their son, Brayden Micah, had been born the night before and they got on a plane to Texas the next day.  This was the day they had been waiting so patiently for, and it was part of God’s plan.
It’s been almost 2 years since Brayden was born.  Jasie and Justin are raising a spunky, sweet, caring little man.  If you have had the chance to meet him, you know that his personality is as cute as his looks.  Brayden loves to giggle, run around, wrestle, jump, play cars and sports.  He keeps his mom and dad busy but if you catch him at the right time, you may find this little guy cuddling up with his parents.
As a family, the Mueller’s are growing again.  Just like last time, they will complete the necessary background checks, home visits, interviews and paper work.  No one knows how long the waiting period will be but we know the Mueller's will be ready when God helps them bring their next son or daughter home.
