I am reaching out on behalf of my brother, Jaren Howe, and his wife, Tammy Howe, who recently experienced a devastating fire on their family farm.

On Saturday, January 24, 2026, a massive fire destroyed two large sheds at the Howe family farm. The fire ignited just before noon in the front of the machine shed, and firefighters began arriving within 15 minutes. Unfortunately, as the flames spread, they consumed every crucial piece of equipment inside — tractors, balers, wagons, manure spreaders, and more. Tragically, the hay shed on the north side also caught fire, taking out over 300 hay bales. Water trucks lined up in the driveway from nearby towns, making trips back and forth to provide enough water for the firefighters to save a third shed and bring the situation under control.

As the flames wreaked havoc, they also damaged the electrical systems connected to the house and barn. Family members quickly discovered that this electrical issue, combined with the firefighters' water, caused sewage to back up into the downstairs bathroom and bedrooms of the farmhouse. Thankfully, with some help, they managed to pump the sewage out, but they had to wait for an electrician to safely restore the electricity.

The firefighters battled flames well into the evening. The burning hay and straw from the second shed had to be spread out to extinguish the fire, and even days later, remnants continued to smolder. The sight of the charred sheds and smoking hay is haunting, and it has been incredibly difficult for the family to maintain their spirits as they have to continue to work on the farm despite the losses.

While insurance will provide some relief, it won’t come close to covering the significant losses in equipment and infrastructure. During this challenging time, I am seeking to raise funds to help the Howe family alleviate the burdens they face from this incident, allowing them to focus on the well-being and happiness of their children and animals.

Your support is deeply needed. All funds raised will go directly to relieving some of the immediate financial pressure they are under. No contribution is too small; even $5 can help make a difference. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign to spread the word.

Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support during this heart-wrenching time.

With gratitude,

Kaylee Albrecht
