विगत एकवर्षदेखि नागरिकता खोइ अभियानले विदेशमा बस्ने नेपालीहरुका लागि बंशजको नागरिकताको निरन्तरताको मूद्दा प्रखररुपमा उठाउँदै आएकोछ। नेपालमा सबैजसो राजनीतिक दलका नेता, संचारकर्मी, बौद्धिक र पेशागत व्यक्तित्व, उध्योगी व्यवसायी लगायत गैरआवासीय नेपालीका बाआमा, आफन्त सबैमा नागरिकताको निरन्तरताको आवश्यकता, यसबाट नेपाललाई हुने फाइदाका बारेमा शिक्षामूलक अभियान चलाउँदै आएको छ। विघटित संसदको राज्य व्यवस्था समितिमा गैरआवासीय नेपालीलाई बंशजको आधारमा नागरिकता दिनुपर्ने आवाज बुलन्द गरेको थियो।
जेनजी पूस्ताको आन्दोलनले नेपालको नवनिर्माणको बाटो खोलेको र यसमा गैर आवासीय नेपालीको पनि अहम् भूमिका हुनसक्ने यथार्थलाई बुझ्न जरुरी भएको छ।
नागरिकता खोइ अभियानले यही वस्तुगत तथ्यमा रहेर नेपालका विभिन्न स्थानमा गैरआवासीय नेपालीलाई नागरिकताको निरन्तरता किन आवश्यक छ, यसले समग्र नेपालको सांस्कृतिक र आर्थिक उन्नयनमा के गर्न सक्छ भन्ने जानकारी गराउन शिक्षामूलक कार्यक्रम आयोजना गर्दैछ। त्यसनिम्ति कार्यक्रम सम्पन्न गर्न आर्थिक श्रोत आवश्यक हुन्छ। हालसम्म नागरिकता खोइ अभियानका संयोजक, सल्लाहकारहरु र केही सहयोगी मित्रहरुले नेपाल र नेपाल बाहिर कार्यक्रम संचालन गर्न सहयोग गर्दै आउनु भएको थियो। अब भने यो अभियानलाई देशव्यापी रुपमा संचालन गर्न आर्थिक स्रोत आवश्यक परेकोले आमनेपालीहरुको व्यापक सहभागिता र सहयोग प्राप्त हुने विश्वासमा यो GoFundMe प्रारम्भ गरिएको हो।
विदेशमा बस्ने नेपाली लगायत नेपाल भित्रैका आदरणीय नेपालीहरुबाट यथोचित सहयोग प्राप्त हुने विश्वासका साथ हार्दिक अनुरोध छ।

Since the past year, the “Nagrikta Khoi” campaign has been persistently raising the issue of pathway to Nepali citizenship based on descent for the Nepali diaspora residing abroad. The campaign has been providing educational and informative discourse to Nepali politicians, journalists, intellectuals, professionals, business owners, industrialists, as well as the parents and relatives of Non-Resident Nepalis regarding the necessity for continuity of their citizenship and the benefits this can bring to the whole of Nepal. Strong appeal had also been made for citizenship based on descent to be granted to Non-Resident Nepalis in the now dissolved parliament’s State Affairs Committee.
The GenZ protest has opened new pathways for reconstruction of Nepal. It is crucial to understand the truth that Non-resident Nepalis can play a prominent role in this process.
The “Nagrikta Khoi” campaign has remained steadfast in this objective truth, and hence, has been campaigning in different parts of Nepal to inform people why continuity of citizenship is necessary for non-resident Nepalis and how it is in the best interest of the overall cultural and economic development of Nepal. To carry out this campaign, financial resources are essential. Until now, the “Nagrikta Khoi” campaign’s organizers, advisors, as well as some supportive friends have been assisting to run the campaign both in Nepal and abroad. However, we now require financial assistance to conduct this campaign nationwide. Therefore, we have started this GoFundMe with the belief and hope that we will achieve enthusiastic participation and support from Nepalis all around the world.
