I’m Monique, the founder of Mt. 25:35 Ministry in Austin, Texas.
God has shown me mercy in my own life, and I want that to shape how I care for others. So I’m starting with food. I cook for people who are hungry and set a table where anyone can sit down in God’s presence: a hot meal, a seat, and a welcome with no conditions. Nobody has to pray, give, or share their story to eat.
My particular concern is the next generation of believers: children, teens, and young adults. It is hard to focus in school when you are hungry, and just as hard to focus on the word of God. I want to take that one worry off the table so a young person can be fully present for what God has for them.
The name comes from Matthew 25:35: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.”
Your gift goes toward:
Groceries and ingredients for the meals
Commercial kitchen time so the food is cooked safely
To-go containers, utensils, and supplies
Getting the food to the people who need it
The long hope is a permanent place in Austin that is open to anyone: somewhere to eat, to sit for as long as you need, and to worship, with Saturdays for students to get homework help, tutoring, and test prep along with a hot breakfast and lunch.
Mt. 25:35 Ministry is new and not yet a registered nonprofit, so gifts here are not tax-deductible. They go toward the food and the table. Thank you for helping set it.
Monique
