On the 6th of September, it will be 10 years since we lost my husband, Josh.

Ten years of learning how to carry grief in a way that still lets life keep moving. Ten years of trying to make sense of something that never really makes sense. Ten years of missing him in all the ordinary moments that don’t feel ordinary when the person you love most isn’t here.

I want to do something not just to mark the time, but to honour him. Something significant. For Josh, for Mila and Zoe, for his family, and for me.

On Sunday 6th September 2026 at 10am I’ll be running 10km at Albert Park Walking Track in Melbourne. Anyone can join, you don’t have to run. Walk, sit, reflect, be together and support each other through a magnitude of grief.

Mila and Zoe are at the heart of this. Everything I do now is shaped by them, and by wanting them to grow up knowing their dad’s name is spoken with love, not silence. Josh’s family continue to give me strength in ways I can’t fully put into words, and this is as much for them as it is for him.

I’m opening this fundraiser for anyone who would like to be part of it. There’s no pressure at all, but if you do want to donate, even $10 would be deeply appreciated. It’s a small amount, but when many people give a small thing, it becomes something special. And yes, I realise there’s a slightly suspicious level of symmetry in all of this $10, 10km, 10 years… but sometimes the universe just decides to be annoyingly neat.

All funds raised will be donated to It’s Okay Not To Be Okay, a charity focused on suicide prevention and mental health. Work that matters deeply in Josh’s memory, and in the hope that fewer families have to live through this kind of loss.
