Ms Allison Bernard Coronial Inquest

Allison Neridine Bernard, 23 year old young Kowanyama mother to two children, was last seen at the Archer River Quarry on the night of February 10, 2013.

 

No trace of her has ever been found.

 

The Coroner has agreed to undertake an Inquest into her disappearance/murder and the first part on the Inquest commenced in December 2021.

 

Ms Bernard’s children, family and community have been grief stricken for 9 years - not knowing what happened to their beloved mother, daughter, niece.

 

The State does not pay for families to attend Coronial Inquests. Ms Bernard’s family cannot afford to travel from their remote Aboriginal community to attend Cairns for the Inquest. 

 

These funds raised will ensure that Ms Bernard’s two mothers (Edwina Bernard and Dellis Burns), son and uncle can be present in court as witnesses give evidence about Ms Bernard and her last sighting.

 

Please help us to ensure that the family attends the Coronial Inquest with the hope that they find Ms Bernards body and bring her home to finally be laid to rest.

 

Funds will be used to pay for flights, accommodation and food for family members.

 

The second part of the Inquest commences Monday 28 March 202 and is listed for 2 weeks.

 

The Coroner has adjourned Ms Bernards Inquest to a date to be fixed later in 2022 as she directed the police to undertake another search of areas that were never searched in 2013. A report to the Coroner is due in 4 months.
