Hello everyone. My name is Halie and I am raising money for my mom and nine year old brother.
My mom had been in a verbally and physically abusive relationship with a horrible man addicted to alcohol. He has hit and beaten my mom on many occasions as well as choked her out against a car all while my nine year old brother had to witness. He would tear her down with words which were so horrible that my brother would often cry because he didnt want his mom to think that about herself. He often seeks “help” and promises to change and then manipulates her by helping her pay for bills/living. She is the main provider for my brother which is a struggle these days.
As always, he went back to his routine of hitting her. This last time he hit her so hard that she thought her nose was broken. She locked him out of the house and had my grandmother stay with her and my brother out of fear that he would get inside if someone wasnt there. He was so drunk that he broken down the door, destroyed everything in the house, tackled my mother and grandma to the floor. My nine year old brother had to hide in his room and call the police for help while the man beat my mom with a baseball bat and tackled my grandmother to the floor again. After hearing my brother call the police in the room, he fled the scene and was not found that night.
My mother was at the court house the next morning attempting to get a restraining order but it could not be served to him if they couldnt find him. While she was at the court house, the man returned to my moms apartment. He gathered ALL my mothers belongings as well as things he knew would hurt her (keepsakes and pictures) and lit my mothers house on fire. The fire destroyed everything my mom owned.
I am raising money to help my family back on their feet. My mom is left with nothing and can only work so much while taking care of a nine year old. My brother has gone through something so traumatic that most people will never have to go through in a lifetime. This money will go to therapy for my brother, clothes/food for the both of them, and housing. Please donate what you can, anything and everything is incredibly appreciated. Thank you.
