Mr. Vinh's Shattered American Dream

My name is Alice ButlerShort and I am raising funds for Vinh who was evicted from his restaurant Saigon 1975, 7395 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA on January 31,2021. Vinh is a victim of the over reaching Covid regulations that have destroyed so many small businesses and ravaged families. Vinh came to this country as a Vietnamese refugee. He was what we call a boat person. As a young man he escaped into the jungle in Vietnam. He managed to get on an overcrowded boat. The boat sank but he held onto a piece of wood for God knows how many days. He just remembers waking up in a hospital in Malaysia, burnt to a cinder even his hair. He came to the United States married, had four children, and worked hard. He achieved the American Dream. His American dream has been shattered but he says, “I’m a boat person, I will not look back.” Everything you see in the picture and much much more will be left in the restaurant. He worked until yesterday to make enough money to feed his family. Vinh is just one victim of the terrible times we are living in. Please donate so that he can pay the  rent on the small townhouse he lives in with his family while he looks for employment. He lost his house, too.  He will be filing bankruptcy next week.
Knowing the indomitable character and hard-working nature of our Vietnamese refugee population, I am confident there is another American Dream out there for Vinh and his family. He and his wife are going to look for work. In the meantime please help them to survive by donating to this fundraiser for them. Let your heart be moved to help this one family. There are many just like them, but if we can help one, we are doing a very good thing. And my prayer is, that as the dust settles, there would be an investor who will hire Vinh to run a fabulous Vietnamese restaurant where we can all enjoy his hospitality and wonderful food once again.
