Mr. Jenkins Homecoming
Donation protected
After 25 years of incarceration, Mr. Jenkins is finally coming home!
Over the last six months, it has been our honor to work with Mr. Jenkins as he prepared for his successful parole hearing. Now that he is preparing to return home, we're hoping to raise some funds that will help him for a successful transition.
Raised by a single-mother in Brooklyn, Mr. Jenkins has spent who has more than two decades taking every opportunity to improve himself and the lives of those around him. While incarcerated, he earned his associates degree in the highly selective Bard Prison Initiative, volunteered his time to help those incarcerated with mental disabilities, developed expertise in the law library to provide legal assistance, and gained the respect of professors, corrections officers, and fellow incarcerated people alike. Now 53 years old and living with multiple sclerosis, Mr. Jenkins looks forward to spending this new chapter of life giving back to others by advocating against gun violence and mentoring at-risk youth. Once he’s settled, Mr. Jenkins hopes to pursue a bachelor’s degree in education.
We are so excited to see Mr. Jenkins return to his loving wife, mother, and family who will support him in a successful transition. He comes home the day after Christmas, and we would love to surprise him with some financial support during the holiday season.
Thanks so much for anything you can give,
