Mr. Choy's Tractor
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jim Marshall and I have started this GoFundMe campaign to raise funds to help a local farmer replace his only Tractor which was stolen on August 4, 2023. I live in Rio Vista, CA and most people who live in the area know Choy and Susan Saetern (Mr. & Mrs. Choy as they are known). Mr. & Mrs. Choy operate a small roadside vegetable and fruit stand located at the intersection of Highway 160 and Highway 12, just East of the Rio Vista Bridge and across Highway 12 from the Delta Farmer's Market. Mr. Choy farms two small plots of land adjacent to his farmstand and he is widely known for the wonderful strawberries he grows and sells daily from April through November of each year. My wife and I know Mr. & Mrs. Choy because we have been buying their delicious strawberries for more than two decades. I also know Mr. Choy because he is a customer of the family owned and operated Dolk Tractor Company in Rio Vista, CA where I work and where Mr. Choy bought his Kubota tractor to use for his farming operation.
On Thursday afternoon, August 3, 2020, I was driving East on Highway 12 past Mr. Choy's strawberry field and noticed him driving his Kubota tractor and tilling the ground to prepare for planting. The next morning, Friday, August 4, 2023, Mr. Choy came into Dolk Tractor and informed me that his tractor had been stolen out of his field overnight. He needed the Model and Serial Number information for his tractor so he could complete the police report on the theft.
I invite you to join me in supporting this beloved, local couple by donating to the effort to raise funds to help the Choy's buy a replacement tractor so they can continue their livelihood and continue to offer the best strawberries to our local community.
