My Tour de 4 Fundraiser for Prostate Cancer

Donation protected
On the 7th September I'll be taking part in the Tour de 4 round Glasgow bringing together people who have been affected by cancer to challenge perceptions, inspire hope and raise vital funds for cancer charities across the UK.

I'll be taking part with my father who was diagnosed with Prostate cancer in 2017. In 2018 he underwent Chemotherapy which pretty much put the tin hat on things. However, prostate cancer is clever and found a way around the hormone treatment so he was then prescribed medication to block the cancer receptors thus making it difficult to grow.

Last year the cancer had, once again become more active and he had a course of radiotherapy to, again, suppress the cancer.

During his initial consultations he was surprised by the doctor's comment that the treatment was not to eradicate the cancer but to prolong life expectancy. I've joined the Chris Hoy Tour de 4 cycle event to show that life does go on at a pretty normal pace and to help raise funds so hopefully, in the future, men will be told the cancer can be eradicated.
