Help My Mom Fight Stage 3 Cancer

Hello, my name is Daniel Zambrano and I’m 20 years old. I am a student at Miami Dade College and have a part-time job as well. On May 6th, my mother, who resides in Venezuela, underwent surgery to remove a 20 cm diameter fibroma located in her uterus. During the operation, she had a full hysterectomy, and the removed tissue was sent for a biopsy. The biopsy revealed stage 3 cervical cancer, with all areas affected - including the cervix, uterus, and ovaries.

We had no idea she had cancer before the surgery.

Now, she urgently needs chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and brachytherapy to prevent the remaining cancer cells in the cervix from spreading to nearby organs.

A GoFundMe was done for the past surgery, helping us fundraise a total of $5,000, enough for us to cover the cost of it. This GoFundMe is aimed to raise money for the therapies needed, since it is difficult for me and my older brother alone to obtain such an amount of money.

The cost of both chemotherapy and radiotherapy is around $7,200. We are still waiting to receive an estimate for the brachytherapy. Once known, the goal set will be adjusted according to the total amount.

She will also need a strict diet and medicines to combat the side effects of the therapies.

El 6 de mayo mi mamá fue operada de un fibroma de 20 centímetros diámetro adentro de su útero. Le realizaron una histerectomía completa y se envió a biopsia lo extraído. La biopsia dio como resultado cáncer de cuello de útero estado 3, estando comprometidos todas las áreas - cuello del útero, útero y ovarios.

No sabíamos nada sobre el cáncer antes de la operación.

Hay que realizar urgentemente quimioterapia, radioterapia y braquiterapia para evitar que las células cancerígenas no migren a órganos cercanos.

Un GoFundMe se realizó para la cirugía pasada, en el cual se recaudó un total de $5,000, ayudándonos a pagar por la cirugía completa. Este GoFundMe es para poder cubrir los gastos de las terapias necesarias, ya que es extremadamente difícil recaudar tanto dinero por nuestra propia cuenta.
