As we speak now, Kiryandongo refugee settlement is a home for over 100,000 refugees from Sudan after fleeing the civil war that forced them to leave everything behind.
These innocent people left their homes with completely nothing. Mothers are trying to care for their children with almost nothing which has made life more miserable and unfair for them. These families struggle each and every single day for food and necessities in a refugee country and most times go to bed hungry with parents skipping meals for their children.Unfortunately the government of Uganda is not doing enough claiming lack of resources within and from our side organizations and agencies.
Youth Smile Initiative through its YSI Sudan Refugee Project, has been on ground trying to help these innocent families through programs like food package distribution project,Mosquito nets project and also our kitchen program where hot meals are served to families in the camp.
The situation in the camp is very dire and this has forced us to relaunch our kitchen program which has been paused due to lack of resources to run the project.
This program is aimed at reducing hunger among the Sudanese families in the settlement.
Your donation will go towards.
- Cooking and serving hot meals to Sudanese families in the camp.
- Support children, mothers and the elderly.
- Keeping the kitchen running for families who depend on it.
We can’t do this without your hand that’s why we calling upon each and everyone to come and support this cause in any way possible.
Every small contribution goes a long way in providing hope to those in need. Together we can do something to end hunger among the Sudanese refugees in Uganda.
