Moving to Main Street

Two months before two years worth of planning and dreaming was to come to fruition, my fiancé abruptly ended our engagement.  Despite the personal devastation of this unexpected change in circumstances, I am eager to follow through with part of the plan. For my children, for myself, for our cat and dog, for our mental and physical health, I will trade in the skyrocketing rents, outrageous traffic, and rising crime rates of Dallas/Ft. Worth for the community and quality of life in a small town I fell in love with 2 and a half years ago. My children and I found a lovely old home in the heart of downtown Danville, Kentucky - a setting that will allow my three children the freedom to explore and grow and learn and build and live; I will find peace, comfort, security, contentment. We’ll fulfill our dreams of joining a community: a short walk to the town square, library and coffee shop; a front porch swing; neighbors who will look out for us, and a beautiful, safe home with space enough for all of us. Initial plans of a two income household have been dashed, but our hopes and dreams have not! In the past two years, I made lots of promises to my children about our move to Kentucky, and I’d like to keep as many of them as I can. In October my little family will make our way 800 miles east, to our old Kentucky home. Your kind, considerate help will go towards moving costs and easing our settling into a place where, until we build one, we will not have a local support system. And a porch swing. I’ve always wanted a porch swing.
