Please consider becoming a supporter of our project documenting the power of movement in community to transform lives!

Moving Through Parkinson’s (MTP), founded in 2015, is a community-based program offering movement and dance classes for individuals living with neurodegenerative movement disorders, including Parkinson’s disease (PD) and multiple sclerosis, as well as those experiencing age-related challenges including dementia.

Community is the foundation of this work. Participants form meaningful connections that reduce isolation and restore trust in their bodies. Movement becomes a practical, everyday tool, and supports mobility, resilience, and well-being.

MTP is an interdisciplinary program that brings together CSU students and faculty from dance, music therapy, and occupational therapy, alongside community partners committed to healthy aging.

Thanks to the generosity of Jackie Erickson/Warner Family Foundation and the Yohena-Rao Trust we were able to fully fund Phase 1 of this project. This allowed us to begin filming, create a short trailer to get the word out, and cover early production costs.

Our Phase 2 Goal is to raise $5,000. Your gift now will help complete production of the full film; supporting filming, editing, and storytelling that will:
  • Amplify the voices of people living with Parkinson’s and other movement challenges
  • Share a powerful, human-centered model of care
  • Inspire similar programs in other communities
  • Help grow and sustain Moving Through Parkinson’s for years to come!
