Movement Leader Jenna Needs Emergency Funds

Jenna Torres has been an organizer and movement leader for decades. A Black Disabled SW, Jenna is engaged in constant care work as a single parent, yet continuously shows up for community. Jenna has provided mutual aid, political advocacy, legal analysis, and collective care and leadership to countless of us in New York and Georgia. Her writing on the criminal injustice system has reached even further. Recently, Jenna had a family emergency that required her to simultaneously take on new caretaking responsibilities and the family court system. This highly stressful situation was followed immediately by a job loss, leaving her with unexpected new expenses, new caretaking responsibilities, and a total loss of income just before Christmas. She now needs to raise enough to cover food and rent to keep her family housed while she finds new employment.

So many of us have benefitted from Jenna's work. She is an essential member of multiple coalitions, including Lysistrata MCCF, RedUp, and the Disabled SW Coalition. I know that we can rally around her in this time of crisis and give back some of what she's given to all of us. So many of us depend on her for support of all kinds - keeping Jenna and her family housed and fed enables her to continue her work as an organizer, strategist, advocate, and collaborator. Supporting Jenna means supporting an entire network of us who rely on her. Please help me raise enough to care for her family's basic needs and to give her kids a Christmas.
