Mount Unicycle around Tahoe for Reno Burrito Proj

I am stoked to be attempting a mountain unicycle ride around Lake Tahoe in support of the Reno Burrito Project. The Reno Burrito Project and mountain unicycling are two really big passions in my life and have been for years, so what better way to combine them than to unicycle in support of this wonderful group.

The Reno Burrito Project is a non-profit organization based in Reno that uses burritos as a way to build community. On Sundays, the group wraps 400 to 500 burritos and distributes them and other important items to the community. (Over 50,000 burritos have now been distributed!) This group accepts help and donations in many different forms to support the houseless population in Reno and relieve some food insecurity. Having volunteered with the group for a couple of years now, I have seen how the burritos are just the starting point in creating genuine human connections.

I will be riding my unicycle around Lake Tahoe to spread awareness about the Reno Burrito Project. If you see this and like what I’m doing and/or what they are doing, all of the donations here go directly to the project. If donations are less desirable but the Burrito Project is an inspiration to you, there are many different ways to support the group! I am super excited about this unicycle ride which, as far as I know, has not been attempted by a mountain unicyclist before, and should be super epic. The ride around Lake Tahoe is estimated to be about 110 miles long with around 15,000 ft of elevation gain. The route includes a section through Desolation WIlderness which I will be hiking, since cycling is not allowed on these trails. I will be avoiding pavement as much as possible and I expect it to take around 5 days to complete. I'll be starting the ride today, September 18. Thanks for checking this out!
