I am reaching out asking for help from this amazing community for my dear friend and her children that were victims of abuse. Posted below is a press release of what this man did to my friend and her children. They have literally lost everything in her apartment from him destroying it and covered in gas from the cops trying to lure him out of her apartment. Anything will help get them back on their feet. ❤️

On February 28th, 2025, at approximately 2:00 A.M., law enforcement responded to a report of a domestic incident in the 100 block of 5th SE, Watford City. Law enforcement arrived and found the victim in a vehicle with her two children fleeing the scene. The suspect was identified as Craig Brian Chavez (37 years old from Watford City, ND). The investigation found that Chavez broke into the apartment and assaulted the victim with his hands and a belt. There were two children present during the assault who were also in danger. Chavez told the victim that he had a gun and was going to kill her. The victim’s dog was also abused by Chavez at the scene.

Once the victim was able to get to safety, Chavez barricaded himself in the apartment and would not listen to law enforcement commands to come out. Williams County SWAT was dispatched due to Chavez’s history of assaultive behavior and the threat of using a weapon against officers.

Once on scene, Williams County SWAT deployed less lethal munitions and flashbangs as part of their efforts, which drove Chavez out of the apartment and into custody.
