Mother and 4 children in need of assistance
Donation protected
My name is Michelle, and I am an American citizen currently residing in Doha, Qatar. I am a divorced single
mother of four children all under the age of fourteen years. One of my children suffers from autism and dysgraphia. I have shared custody of my children; however, their father doesn’t fulfill all of his obligations in regard to their upkeep. Therefore, subjecting me to further financial burden amongst other things.
One year after my divorce, my ex-husband cancelled my residency permit without my knowledge. Therefore, every two months, I had to leave Qatar to another country and return to get a new visitor’s visa upon arrival at the airport. A year later, I got a business visa; however, during this pandemic, I too lost my job.
Unfortunately, my current business visa expires today, 26th August 2020 and I wasn’t aware until two days ago that I would still have to leave Qatar during this current pandemic, especially with the flight restrictions. At present, only Qatari nationals and resident permit holders are allowed to return to Qatar, and I am not included in either of those categories.
Therefore, I refuse to leave just yet without my children while not knowing if I will be allowed to re-enter into Qatar. I can’t abandon my young kids who need me which means I will be incurring a daily fine starting from tomorrow. However, I intend to leave as soon as Qatar begins to allow entry of non-national and resident permit holders which may come into effect at the start of Phase 4 of the lifting of the Covid-19 restrictions from 1st September 2020, although this is not certain.
I am pleading for financial assistance to cover these unforeseen expenses. I need to raise $2,000 for flight, hotel and fine costs. Therefore, I hope that you will empathise with my current unfortunate circumstance and donate whatever possible. Thank you very much in advance.
