Ride for Refugees

Donation protected
Why?

As many people know, I've been a part of the Afghanistan Evacuation effort since the beginning of August. Many of those families we have helped make it to the United are now part of the refugee and immigration system within the united states. In Merrimack Valley, Lowell has accepted 500 Afghans of different statuses that could use as much support as we muster. I want to contribute two donations to known organizations currently helping Afghan evacuees, and I hope you'd be willing to help me.

Who?

Sacramento: Lincoln Amazing Grace Seventh-day Adventists (Lincoln Adventists ) - The Church has done fantastic work with the families in the Sacramento Area and with many families, including the people we helped. They help refugees with necessities, services, and many other critically needed items for new families in the United States.

Lowell: International Institute of New England (IINE): A well-known local organization currently helping Afghan refugees with resettlement, education, career advancement and pathways to citizenship. Lowell is my home town and has a long history of supporting those who need it most and making them part of the American story. This is how I'd like to support my hometown and the newest Afghan residents.

How?

I wouldn't ask for something without giving something in return, and that spirit, I'm going to give up my legs for a few days. I will complete the Haleakala Climb series run on Peloton and instructed by Christine D'Ercole in return for a per-mile donation of any amount.

A quarter, a dime, a dollar, whatever per mile. I will guarantee 100 miles so do your math on a donation and I'll give you the miles back. This is a 5 hour total ride over 3 days.

The Rides:

So here is the schedule starting on April 8th. I will be able to schedule and provide a sharing link for anyone who wants to ride along two weeks before the date and update the campaign. My Peloton username is MosesBikey, and I'll be riding under the Ride for Refugees tag. #rideforrefugees
