Bringing our sweet boy to his forever home
Hi friends and family!
As many of you know, Stan and I have spent the past few years trying to grow our family. We used one of the best reproductive endocrinologist in Knoxville and went through many tests, medications and even surgery in an attempt to have a baby. During this time Stan and I learned to lean on each other and learned a whole lot about patience. The year left us emotionally, physically (a year of hormones is rough!) and financially drained.
Little did we know that in November of 2019, the world lost one of the best Papaws around and would it would lead to us meeting our sweet boy. Last December we laid eyes on our Grant and we knew exactly who the answer to our prayers was.
During the past year, we have been working on adding him to our family. Many things go into a legal custody/ adoption starting with the home study and establishing a relationship with our boy. Many hours were spent “child- proofing” our home, back ground checks, hours of interviews so we could be approved as adoptive parents. We have also spent countless hours driving to Columbus to spend time with our boy and to grow the trust, love and family bond. Grant has been to Tennessee many times to meet our families and to get to know our way of life. During this time, our attorney has been working on special requirements for our legal custody case/ adoption since it crosses state lines, as well as, several unexpected matters. Stan and I have spent in excess of $10,000 during this time and have more legal fees that have come up.
They say it takes a village to raise a child and we are reaching out to our village for help with getting our sweet boy home. If you can donate, we would greatly appreciate it. If you can keep us in your thoughts and prayers, we would love that too!
