Montrose Avenue VE Day 80th anniversary street party

Hi, I'm Natasha from 26, Montrose Avenue (married to Steve) and I'm one of the organisers of our VE Day 80th anniversary street party on Monday 5th May (a bank holiday). We've lived here for almost 30 years and love our little community. One of my tasks in preparation for the street party is to organise this fundraiser from neighbours. We have a modest target of £500 so if everyone who can afford to chips in a bit, we should reach that easily! (We are also approaching local businesses to help out, eg Village Vet for prizes for the dog show.) The money will be used to pay for anything we need that we can't get for free, so for example VE80 branded bunting, branded bar runner, branded paper cups, a megaphone, any equipment needed to make music, medals for prize-winning dogs, anything needed for children's entertainment, etc. We don't think there will be a shortage of items to pay for, but if we have money left over, we will hold it over for the next street party (as we did last time we had a street party). I will hold the money in a savings account that will only be used for this purpose, and all income and expenditure will be overseen by Tessa and the organising committee.
