This year’s July 4th Parade and Picnic, celebrating America’s 250th birthday, is being organized entirely by neighbors, for neighbors!
With the MNVCA on hiatus, a group of Monte Nido residents is stepping up to make sure our community tradition continues. The plans are already in place: Fleemans Meadow has graciously been made available, and a live band, lawn games, and a burger stand are already lined up.
To pull it off, we need community support to cover essential expenses like parade permits, insurance, road closures, port-a-potties, lawn games, ribbons, and more. Every dollar raised goes directly to keeping this tradition alive - even $20 goes a long way.
If you would like to get in touch to help, please message us at the link below under the heading "Organizer" and click the button "Message".
Where your donation goes:
- $1350 - Event insurance and liability coverage
- $1200 - CHP road closure permits
- $800 - Portable restrooms and trash service
- $500 - Fiscal sponsor organization fee
- $250 - Parade ribbons and lawn games
- $300 - Contingency
- If we exceed our goal, we'll put extra funds toward a giant flag, treats for the celebration, and a head start on next year's event.
UPDATE: We have now secured our "fiscal sponsor"! This is the organization that will engage the permits and insurance for the event using the funds we raise through this Gofundme. There is now a clear path to the parade and picnic happening as long as we complete this fundraiser. Please note that for this year our insurance will not cover animals - so unfortunately no horses or dogs for this unusual year.
PLEASE NOTE: In the unlikely event we cannot proceed with the parade and picnic, we will make every effort to return all donations. We cannot control what fees Gofundme will retain in such a scenario.
