My Dear Friend Monica is one of, if not the strongest woman I know! Because of her strength she is not the type to ask for help…in fact she hates asking others for help, but the truth is she needs it and finally agreed to me making this for her. She’s a single mother to 3 boys Preston, Parker & Zane.
She’s had a long road of health issues starting at a young age. Starting with Cardiac/Heart issues and got her FIRST pacemaker at the age of 28. 10 years later in 2020 she got Pacemaker #2, less then 2 years later she had to have another Cardiac ablation for Afib with rapid ventricular response on in 2022. (She hasnt been able to work since.) Less then 2 months later she was Diagnosed with Breast cancer. Immediately She had a 10hr Double mastectomy with lymph node removal, and reconstruction at the Cancer treatment centers of America in Zion IL. In September of 2022. While continuing to struggle with ongoing health issues in August of 2024 a scan resulted with an abnormality on her liver and she was Diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency . It is an inherited gene mutation that has compromised her lungs and liver . At the discretion of her cancer center doctors, she was referred to RUSH University in Chicago this past Dec to be established with Hepatology/ Liver transplant division, where she is undergoing continuous care .
Due to declining health she is no longer able to work and was recently was deemed medically permanently disabled.
This past Friday when the storms came.. a tree from her front yard fell not only on top of the home she rents making a hole in her dining room but also crushing her car and totaling it. This vehicle had over 240,000 miles on it and she carried only liability insurance on it. Due to her being off of work and disabled she can’t afford a monthly car payment and needs to find a reliable vehicle to get to and from her on going cancer surveillance and continuous treatment at City of Hope (formerly Cancer Treatment Centers of America) in Zion IL as well as all of her appointments up at Rush in Chicago IL. If you are financially able to please consider making a donation. I know her and her family would appreciate it. All positive thoughts and vibes sent her way are appreciated as well. THANK YOU!
