Money for Meric
Donation protected
Meric Dreher was born November 18 2013. He was a happy, healthy, thriving and chatty toddler, who loved to run and play basketball. Meric experienced his first sezuire February 2017 and after several seizures, Lisa and David thought they might be dealing with a form of epilepsy. When Merics balance started to become unsteady during the summer of 2018, causing him to require a walker by fall, his parents and doctors started to become concerned there was something else going on. In January 2019 Meric was diagnosed with late infantile Batten Disease. He has category CLN2. Batten disease is a extremely rare and terminal disease that has taken away his ability to walk, talk, see, and eat. There is no cure, and unfortunately Meric has regressed beyond the point of being able to receive any treatments to help with the effects of this awful disease. Little Meric will continue to decline causing him and his families needs for support to constantly change. Meric currently requires a wheelchair but will soon need a different one because of his changing needs. His house does not currently have a ramp and as he grows it becomes more difficult to carry him in and out. As he grows and his needs and equipment change, the family may need to look into a new vehicle. Merics diagnosis has of course overwhelmed his family emotionally, as well as financially. Many of us want to help alleviate any hardship we can but are often at a loss for words or how we can help. This Go Fund me has been created to allow all Lisa and David's family and friends to show their support and help them to get Meric anything needs to make life easier, as well as filling Meric with as many joyful experiences and making amazing memories with him. Thank you in advance for your donation and support!
