Last Tuesday, September 30, 2025, in the evening, a powerful magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck Cebu, Philippines, with its epicenter located east-northeast of Bogo City, Philippines. To this day, the province continues to experience on-and-off aftershocks more frequently than 4-magnitude aftershocks. The earthquake did not just leave physical destruction in cities and towns, but has brought holistic destruction to every Cebuano in the province. As of Wednesday, October 1, 2025, the death toll recorded is at 69 and might increase according to the national disaster agency due to the high number of injuries during the quake. Not too long ago, the country experienced typhoons as well, and they also affected some locations in Cebu. The province, the country, has not yet fully recovered from these calamities and needs your help.
With that being said, my fellow Cebuanos need urgent help, and through your monetary donation, we can provide assistance and a helping hand to the families and communities affected. I am seeking your help to raise at least $ 2,000.00 (Php 82,907.73 (Php 41.4539) based on Western Union's conversion rate) that will be donated to a local organization in Cebu, Philippines.
