My goal is to provide a support network for single mothers of color, but before I do that I need to make sure I take the correct steps legally. The funds I collect here will be used to pay for the non-profit filing fees, the website, and the establishment of a bank account for Mommy Tribe. 

As a single mother, I know how difficult it may be to navigate this journey without much help. I speak to so many single mothers who just need a few extra bucks to make it through the week, a bed to sleep in while they transition between housing or just a place they can vent without judgment. We need a lot, and it is okay to ask for it. I plan to set up a fund for all the Mom's who need it. I want to create fundraising events to provide us with the financial access to get a last-minute baby sitter for job interviews, immediate assistance with bills, or groceries, and many other things that may come up.

Once Mommy Tribe is up and running, I plan to ask those with skills in financial literacy, mental and physical health, and life coaching to donate their skills to a monthly mommy tribe meeting.  I want this organization to also use the resources and skills of its members to support the group as well, in whatever way they can. 

I have dealt with the long, taxing process of seeking out help from the county I live in. It was not enough. I am now fully employed and it is still not enough. If we come together, fundraise, pool our resources, we can make many things possible. Please donate what you can, and if you can't please share on social media.
