Mom of Twins Fighting Seizures—We Need Help!

This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do—asking for help. I was raised never to expect support from anyone, and for most of my life, I’ve carried everything on my own. But now, as a mother of two beautiful twin toddlers, I’ve reached a point where I can’t carry it all alone anymore.

For the past two years, I’ve been battling major seizures that have been growing more frequent and severe. They’ve come at the worst possible moments—in my sleep, in the kitchen, the bathroom, even out in public and it terrifies us, because one day it could end differently. Because my husband is the one saving me from banging my head or swallowing my tongue as I lose consciousness.

He’s been working from home to stay close and keep us safe, but his online work hasn’t been coming in the way it used to, and our finances are growing tighter and tighter, it’s scary. That’s why I began searching for a steady online job myself—because the idea of him leaving me alone with the twins has always terrified us both. Still, with bills piling up, he finally decided to start training for a new job outside. But on his second day away, the very thing he was most afraid of happened—he came home to find our toddlers crying and me in the middle of a seizure. Thankfully, this time I was on the bed. But the fear of “what if next time…” is something we can’t get out of our minds now.

We’ve never been the type to ask for much from anyone. We’re not looking for an easy way out. We’re simply a young family, working hard, loving hard, and trying to hold everything together through unexpected struggles.

Our goal is to raise $2,200 to cover the essentials for the next couple of months: rent, utilities, groceries, transportation, and a small emergency cushion for the twins. This will give us the breathing room we desperately need while I work toward securing stable online work.

Esta es una de las cosas más difíciles que he tenido que hacer: pedir ayuda. Crecí sin esperar apoyo de nadie, y durante gran parte de mi vida, he cargado con todo por mi cuenta. Pero ahora, como madre de dos hermosos gemelos pequeños, he llegado a un punto en el que ya no puedo llevarlo todo sola.

Durante los últimos dos años, he estado luchando contra crisis epilépticas graves que han ido aumentando en frecuencia y severidad. Él ha estado trabajando desde casa para mantenerse cerca y cuidarnos, pero su trabajo en línea ya no llega como antes, y nuestras finanzas se están volviendo cada vez más ajustadas, lo cual da miedo. Por eso comencé a buscar un trabajo estable en línea yo misma, porque la idea de que él me dejara sola con los gemelos siempre nos ha aterrorizado a los dos. Aun así, con las cuentas acumulándose, finalmente decidió comenzar un entrenamiento para un nuevo trabajo fuera de casa. Pero en su segundo día fuera, sucedió lo que más temía: llegó a casa y encontró a nuestros bebés llorando y a mí en medio de una crisis. Afortunadamente, esta vez estaba en la cama. Pero el miedo de “¿y si la próxima vez…?” es algo que no podemos sacar de nuestra mente.

No somos personas que tomen a la ligera el pedir ayuda. No estamos buscando un camino fácil. Somos simplemente una familia joven, trabajando duro, amando con todo el corazón y tratando de mantenernos unidos frente a luchas inesperadas.
