The Cincinnati Parent Empowerment Network(CPEN) Facebook page was created on May 22nd 2019 to ensure that parents, caretakers, and Cincinnati families had updated information about free/low cost activities, community resources, family events, support groups, and more.
About CPEN's Founder:
Christian Davis a mother of nine children...that's right NINE (which includes two sets of twins) who has raised her family in the Cincinnati Ohio area for more than 20 years. With six children still being at home; Christian has become an community resource expert and has helped other families successfully enjoy living in the great City of Cincinnati while living on a budget!
Christian is now studying for her PHD in Education, is both a substitute prek-12 teacher and an Adjunct Foundational English Professor, and somehow finds the time to homeschool her youngest child!
Christian credits several organizations and caring individuals all located within the Cincinnati area for her family's success. CPEN is Christian's dream of paying forward all of the blessings and support that her family has received forward!
Since its launch CPEN has gained a strong following of over 2k (a number which increases daily), has received 15 raving reviews from parents who have benefited from the information provided on our website, and has a 5 out of 5 recommendation status!
CPEN is well on it's way to becoming a trusted community resource that provides much needed valuable information. Unlike other community organizations CPEN is not restricted to serving families/ individuals based on zipcodes; as a result CPEN reaches a widespread culturally diverse audience.
Within the past 28 days CPEN's post on its CPEN Facebook page has received over 32.6k views (which is actually a decrease from previous months) and 177 new page likes!!
As you can see CPEN is an organization that can help move families and individuals within the community forward! It is time for CPEN to take its efforts to the next
level: becoming an official 501(c)(3)- a nonprofit corporation.
This is a a huge step forward and a challenge that CPEN is ready to take on. By becoming a nonprofit corporation, CPEN believes it can better support Cincinnati families! This will also help CPEN develop a stronger presence within schools, childcare centers, parent support groups, and each of Cincinnati's 52 neighborhoods!
CPEN services will expand to include:
1)Connecting parents to CPEN's Parents Ambassadors within their own neighborhood
2)Providing monthly parent
supportive care baskets to moms/ dads that need some extra ecoungarement to get them through their day
3) Proving free parent/ family adovaocay within schools
4) Developing both a 365 day mentoring program and after school programming for minority young males in the Cincinnati area. Programming will be designed to service boys/young men ages 6 to 25.
