Help Save Moms Home
Donation protected
My name is Tom Kerins. I was named after my grandfather Thomas by my adoptive mother. My mother, Kathy, decided to adopt me after quite a life. She spent 15 years as a nun and then received an engineering degree from Berkeley. When she chose to adopt she was 44, single, and went to Brazil in 1985 not knowing what she was getting herself into. Literally. She had an option to wait for an American baby, which could have been years. But she chose to roll the dice in Brazil with information there was a baby for adoption, but that was everything she knew. Our lives bonded and were never the same. I have ZERO misunderstandings about what she did for me. She went (literally) out of her way to save my life, and I would do anything to repay the favor. With limited and fixed income and constantly changing (and sometimes surprise) financial demands, she has finds herself facing the real risk of losing her home. As an 82 year old partially disabled retiree who suffers from stage 3 kidney disease, many types of work are out of the question. My moms happiness and safety mean everything to me, and I would do anything to provide anything I could to repay her relentless love, care, and for her literally saving my life. Anything and everything helps. Thank you in advance and for helping a son repay the unimaginable debt he owes to his mother.
