Hello, we are social work students from Griffith University who are currently doing our placement at Lynne Richardson Community Centre. The Lynne Richardson Community Centre fosters an inclusive community by ensuring open access, promoting equitable growth, respecting diverse beliefs, encouraging active participation and embodying key social justice values. As social work students, we aim to help and assist the community and its people. We are reaching out to ask for your support in raising funds and resources for an Easter School Holiday Program, created to offer a safe, respectful and enriching experience for kids over the holidays. This initiative is very important to us,as we know the positive impact it can have, we believe every child should have the opportunity to enjoy their school holidays no matter their circumstances and that parents or caregivers who may need a helping hand or extra support during this time, can receive it.

The school holidays are a time for kids to create memories, play, learn, explore and connect, however, for some within our community, this might not be as accessible as others with their holidays mostly spent indoors without much peer support. We hope to take the kids out to fun and exciting trips that might not normally be within reach for them. Whether that's a day out at the cinemas, a trip to bounce or any other activity that allows kids to experience an easter holiday full of fun and joy. By donating, you are helping to fund meaningful activities and experiences for children who would benefit more than spending time at home over the Easter Holidays.

In Molendinar, there are 613 primary school-aged children and 7.9% of children aged 5-9 report needing assistance—nearly double the Gold Coast average of 4.6%. This highlights the high demand for support in the area.

General Impact per Donation: A donation of $20 can provide a full day of activities for one child in the program.

Field Trip Costs: A $200 donation can cover transportation and entry fees for 10 children to go on an exciting excursion, such as to Bounce or another fun activity.
